Michael ''Mogoose'' O'Dell
I have been racing since I was 8 years old, sprint karts with Briggs flatheads, first full season in 2011. My family got into road racing in 2016, and since then I've driven almost every kart class there is, from 4-cycle LO206s up to a 250cc Superkart.
In 2022 and 2023 I went through Lucas Oil Racing School to get my SCCA license. In February 2024 I arranged a test in an SRF3 car, then ran as many races as I could afford to see if I could be competitive in cars, I won 4 of 8.
2025 was a step up: I advanced from P33 to P8 over four rounds of SCCA Super Tour, then had a double-double Grand Slam at Mid-Ohio (pole, win, fastest lap, led every lap, twice). In 2026 I made my IMSA MX-5 Cup debut and finished P16 of 38, up from a P28 start.
I also run an iRacing rig I picked up in 2022. I participate in a couple of leagues, mostly used to learn tracks before I see them in person.
Off track, I work full-time as an EMT to fund the racing program. It's demanding work, and it means racing gets whatever time and money is left over which makes every race count more.
I coach beginners in karts, cars, and sim racing when I can, grass roots is where I came from. In the paddock I've built a reputation as someone who's prepared, easy to work with, and happy to pull weight wherever the team needs it.
One of the strangest adjustments this season was not being allowed to jump in and wrench on the car between runs, old habits.
My goal is simple: become a professional driver, and get to the Rolex 24.
